Artaria's 26th Adult Retreat at the Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center takes place on 80 acres of restored prairie surrounded by hundreds of acres of mixed hardwood forest. It's an inspiring weekend setting for pre-formed non-professional string quartets; strings and piano; and strings and wind groups. The campus flourishes in the Driftless region of southeast Minnesota near Lanesboro, rich in natural resources and cultural history, unique in its limestone karst geology and enchanting beauty.

The 2026 Retreat schedule includes 4 individual group sessions with members of Artaria, 4 scheduled individual group rehearsals, a collaborative roundtable discussion, a naturalist-guided trek through fall foliage, and time to stroll in Lanesboro.   On Saturday evening, Artaria gives a public performance at the historical "Sons of Norway" followed by dinner under the stars at Juniper's. Sunday, participant groups share their weekend work in a casual performance.

“Another outstanding chamber music retreat with Artaria!"

"I loved the coaching and the coaches! The Friday night discussion was really wonderful, especially the focus on how we arrive at decisions as a group."

"I learned so much!! This included new technical ideas, new ensemble ideas, and most importantly, new ideas about how to understand and interpret the music. I was running out of margin space taking notes!"

"From each coach we gained a different insight into how to listen, how to express, how to practice, new techniques - just a mountain of information. After each session we would say we wished we had recorded it."
