ADULT RETREAT

SEPTEMBER 25-27, 2026

Artaria's Adult Retreat at the Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center takes place among naturalists who live on 80 acres of restored prairie and mixed hardwood forest surrounded by hundreds of acres of state forest land. It's an inspiring setting for pre-formed string quartets; strings and piano; and strings and wind groups to get nurtured among peers. The campus flourishes in the Driftless region of southeast Minnesota near Lanesboro, rich in natural resources and cultural history, unique in its limestone karst geology and enchanting beauty.

Tuition per Participant: Lodging at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center: $ double occupancy room w/bath $/person  single occupancy room w/bath $/person   Lodging at Eagle Bluff includes all meals (excluding Saturday dinner). Please inform us of any food restrictions. Note: Alternative lodging at your own expense is available at B&B's in Lanesboro.

The 2026 Retreat weekend features a balanced schedule of individual group sessions with members of Artaria, lively interactive score-study, a naturalist-guided walk through fall foliage, plenty of individual group rehearsal time, and in-town adventures.   On Saturday evening, Artaria gives a public performance at Lanesboro's destination "Sons of Norway" followed by dinner under the stars at Juniper's in downtown Lanesboro, and on Sunday, participant groups perform for each other .

“Another outstanding chamber music retreat with Artaria!"

"I loved the coaching and the coaches! The Friday night discussion was really wonderful, especially the focus on how we arrive at decisions as a group."

"I learned so much!! This included new technical ideas, new ensemble ideas, and most importantly, new ideas about how to understand and interpret the music. I was running out of margin space taking notes!"

"From each coach we gained a different insight into how to listen, how to express, how to practice, new techniques - just a mountain of information. After each session we would say we wished we had recorded it."
